Product Specialist: Analytical Chemistry (JHB) (LC_495)

Essentials: BSc Analytical Chemistry; minimum 5y Sales experience in lab equipment; experience with NIR, refractometers, polarimeters, density meters, particle sizing ; South African citizen willing to travel into Sub-Saharan Africa. Must speak, read and write  Afrikaans fluently; valid driver's license, valid passport; willing to travel regularly.
Location:  Working in Province of Gauteng and surrounds

A South African supplier of international, high quality lab products and consumables is recruiting for a suitably trained and experienced Product Specialist to join their team.
The Company provides a range of lab-based product solutions to Industrial, Service and Research Laboratories. Their product ranges are diverse and aimed at researchers, industry technologists and agriculturists in the disciplines of Analytical Chemistry and related.
The Product Specialist will oversee their Analytical Chemistry related portfolio and be involved with both Supplier and Customer relationships related to this. The overall purpose of the role is to work with the sales team to ensure excellent product delivery. They will develop a wealth of knowledge about the portfolios' product range, analyse market trends, develop sales, price and profitability strategies, recommending improvements, identifying opportunities with the end goal of increasing revenue.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in building strong customer relationships and show identifiable analytical skills.
        • BSc/BSc Hons/MSc Analytical Chemistry
        • At least 5 years' experience in lab equipment Sales/Product Management
        • Experience with: NIR, Refractometers, Polarimeters, Density meters, Particle sizing
        • Must speak, read and write Afrikaans (will be required to speak with Afrikaans customers)
        • Personal competencies: independent work management (time & planning); strong interpersonal skills; exceptional communication skills; ability to work under pressure; ability to provide solutions when faced with a challenge
        • South African citizen, willing to occasionally travel into Sub-Saharan Africa
        • Valid passport
        • Valid driver's license
